At Mictlān Handcrafted, our mission is to create one-of-a-kind garments and wearables from repurposed and upcycled materials, giving each textile a second life. We embrace a slow fashion philosophy, designing with intentionality and sustainability in mind. At Mictlān Handcrafted we seek to push beyond the European foundations of Gothic fashion to reinterpret darkness and ornamentation through a distinctly Chicano perspective. Inspired by the visual culture of the ancient Mexica, our pieces embody a deep respect for heritage through imagery referential to Mexican mythology, cosmology, and folklore.
